Dance, choreography and new media—Sychronous Objects

This is one of the more interesting art sites/projects I’ve seen for a year or three. It’s a very detailed record and exploration of choreographer William Forsythe’s data exploration of One Flat Thing, reproduced. Worth exploring. Here’s a very nice blog entry on ‘Data Choreography’ by Susana Jorgina. There are some excellent (many online) references at the end. Erin Manning’s are particularly worth looking up. Or you could start here—this is specifically on the Forsythe work but it’s a lovely quick summary of some very interesting issues for the whole course.
